Announcement · Xalant

The Xalant plan is now public

One campus design, three companies and four United States markets in the pipeline. The site describing them is live; Xalant itself is still being formed.

This website is the first public description of what Xalant intends to build: edge compute, the power to run it and the link out, designed as one campus rather than as three procurements.

It is published now, before formation is complete and before any ground is broken, because the plan is worth arguing with at this stage and not much use after it.

What is being announced

A plan, a design and a pipeline — and a website that states the stage each of them is at.

The design is one campus pattern: a compute hall, generation beside it on the pad, and backhaul that does not wait on a trench. Each of the three parts has its own pages, and each of those pages says whether the thing described is designed, planned or built.

The pipeline is four United States markets. South Oregon is the proof-of-concept market, with build-out targeted for Q1 2027; Milwaukee, Pennsylvania and North Georgia are planned and are described at state level only, because naming a county before a site exists would be a claim about land we do not hold.

Beyond those four there is a list of target geographies. They are written as targets throughout, with no site, no agreement and no date attached to any of them.

What is not being announced

No facility. Nothing on this site is operating, and Xalant has no site, no generation and no gateway anywhere.

No formation date. Xalant is pre-formation, and the operating entity is not yet confirmed — which is also why the privacy policy and the terms of use are published as drafts with the company name, the registered address and the governing law deliberately left blank.

No partner, customer or offtake agreement. Where another company's technology is named on this site it is named as a technology reference, with that company's own published material as the source; no commercial agreement with any of them exists or is implied.

No funding news of any kind. That material is not on this site and will not be.

How to read the rest of the site

Three things are worth knowing before you do.

Every figure comes from one registry file, each entry carrying the source it came from and the date that source was read. A figure that has not met that standard is not shown at all — so several sentences on this site are written without a number that you might expect to find in them, and that is on purpose rather than an omission.

Every date is a target. Nothing on this site claims a date that has already happened except the dates on these posts.

The industry pages carry other people's reporting, attributed to them and linked to their pages. We link to it; we do not republish it, and we do not put our name on it.

What happens next

The next announcement on this page will be about ground, a signed agreement that can be published, or formation being complete. Until one of those is true, there is nothing to announce, and this page will say so.

If you want to be told when there is, the newsroom has an RSS feed, or you can write to us and ask.
