Who publishes this site

Xalant is a venture that is still being formed. This website is published by the people building it, and the footer names Eight Galaxies LLC as the copyright holder. Which legal entity will operate Xalant, and therefore which entity these terms bind, is not yet settled.

No company name, registered address, registration number or governing law is stated below, because none of them is confirmed. They are filled in when they are, and not invented in the meantime.

What this site is

This site describes a design and a plan. Xalant has no operating facility, and nothing described here is in service anywhere.

Nothing on this site is an offer, a quotation, a reservation of capacity or a commitment to build anything. A capability described as designed, targeted or planned is exactly that, and a market named in the pipeline is a market we intend to build in rather than one we are in.

Target geographies named anywhere on this site are named as targets. They carry no site, no agreement and no date.

Figures and dates

Every figure this site shows comes from one registry file, with the source it came from and the date that source was read attached to it. A figure that has not been cleared to that standard is not shown, which is why some sentences on this site read as though a number has been taken out of them. One has.

Dates are targets. They describe when we intend something to happen, not when it will.

Other companies, their names and their marks

Every other company named on this site owns its own name and marks, and nothing here is claimed on their behalf.

Where a technology or a product is named, it is named as a technology reference: it describes what a Xalant design is built around. It does not mean that company has an agreement with Xalant, and no agreement, endorsement, supply arrangement or partnership should be read into it. Where an agreement exists and can be published, it is described in words on the page that describes it, with that company's approval.

Industry headlines

The industry pages carry headlines and short summaries published by independent trade outlets. Those headlines and summaries belong to their publishers; Xalant links, it does not republish. Each item shows the outlet that published it, its publication date and a link to the outlet's own page.

Nothing is re-hosted, no article text is copied beyond a short summary, no image is taken, and third-party items are never included in the Xalant RSS feed.

If you publish one of these feeds and want an item removed, or your feed dropped altogether, write to info@xalant.net and it will be done.

What you may do with this site

Read it, link to it, print it and quote from it with attribution. Journalists and investors are welcome to quote it; that is what it is for.

Do not present it as your own work, do not use it to suggest that Xalant endorses you, and do not reproduce it whole on another site.

Automated access

Crawling and indexing are welcome, within what the site's robots file allows.

Do not make automated requests at a rate that degrades the site for other people, and give your crawler a user-agent string that identifies it and a way to reach you.

Accuracy, availability and liability

This site is published in good faith and kept as accurate as the underlying facts allow, but it is published as it stands. We do not promise that it is complete, that it is free of error or that it is always reachable.

We are not liable for a decision taken on the basis of a plan described here, and the specific limits and exclusions that apply will be set as part of the legal review this document is waiting on. Those limits depend on the governing law, which is not yet fixed, so this paragraph is plain English rather than a final clause.

Links to other sites

This site links to other people's pages — outlets, regulators, standards bodies and the public pages of companies whose technology is referenced. Those pages are theirs. We do not control them, we are not responsible for them, and a link is not an endorsement.

Changes

The date at the top of this page is the date it last changed. When the review is finished and the entity is confirmed, the draft notice at the top goes away and the blanks listed below are filled in.

Write to info@xalant.net. That address reaches the people building this, and it is the only contact route published on the site until a phone number and an address are confirmed.

What is deliberately blank

Each line below is a question that has not been answered yet. None of them is filled in with a placeholder, an example or a guess, because a wrong company name or a wrong governing law in a document like this is worse than an obvious gap.

• The operating entity these terms bind, and whether that is Eight Galaxies LLC or another company.
• A registered address and a company registration number.
• The governing law and the courts that would hear a dispute.
• The final wording of the warranty disclaimer and the liability limits, which depend on that governing law.
• Whether a separate set of terms is needed for anyone who downloads a datasheet or a one-pager.
