Every site is designed to be fully connected before a trench is dug. Fibre arrives as phase two: lit backhaul, or a lateral built to the nearest long-haul point of presence.

Xalant designs, sites, powers and licenses ground equipment. The constellation overhead belongs to a satellite operator.

The design, in words

Ka-band

Primary path

A dedicated Ka-band ground segment on the gateway pad, sized for the whole pad rather than for any one antenna.

By design

The design basis asks for the same capacity in both directions. Uploading is what a site full of sensors, cameras and models actually does.

Failover

Satellite primary, terrestrial fibre in phase two. Either path can be the one that is down.

Capacity, latency and licensing durations live in the stats registry and publish only with a named source and an as-of date.

Gateway pad

Land, foundations, grounding, antenna pedestals and the lateral into the site. The pad is specified for the whole gateway, never sold as a sub-unit.

Earth-station licence

The FCC Part 25 earth-station licence and the spectrum coordination that goes with it. It is a step in the plan, described as a step — not a promise about how long a regulator will take.

Build-out

Antennas, the meet-me room, the core switch, and the run into the edge centre’s own fabric. Power and cooling come from the site, which is the point of putting the pad there.

Hand-off and yield

Capacity beyond what the edge centre needs is intended for the local networks around it — fibre, fixed wireless or mobile, built by whoever already builds them there.

The same gateway-class ground segment, profiled for the bandwidth, latency and mobility each industry works with.

Aid and NGO

When the fixed network is the thing that has failed, the first job is getting a coordination channel back. Relief and response teams arrive into exactly that gap, and they arrive before any infrastructure does.

Aviation

A helicopter or a business jet is a small network moving quickly through a sky with no towers in it. Everything it needs has to arrive from above, and has to keep arriving while the aircraft turns.

Construction

A job site is a network that exists for eighteen months and then moves. It usually starts before the trench, the pole route and the meter do, which is precisely when the site plan, the survey data and the safety systems all need to be online.

Defense

Defence buyers do not procure connectivity the way a business does, and a commercial satellite service is usually the wrong answer to their question. What Xalant has to offer this sector is ground: where a station sits, how it is powered, and how it is hardened.

Energy

Extraction and generation happen where the resource is, which is reliably the far side of wherever the network stops. A well pad, a mine or a wind field is a small industrial estate with no street to run fibre down.

Logistics

A fleet is a network whose nodes are never in the same place twice, and whose worst coverage is exactly where the route is longest. The gaps between towers are where the tracking data stops and the questions start.

Maritime

A vessel is the oldest version of this problem: a self-contained operation, weeks from shore, with a crew whose expectations came aboard with their phones. Everything it needs arrives from above or not at all.

Personal

The last case is the simplest one: a household or a traveller well past the end of the line, where the answer has always been "there is no service here". A gateway on a nearby site changes what the local network is able to offer.
