Who brings what.

The constellation belongs to a satellite operator. Xalant brings the ground: the land, the power, the pad, the grounding, the crane and the hand-off to whoever carries it the last mile. Xalant does not build last-mile networks and does not plan to.

Build

What is on the pad.

Drawn in build order. Each item is a line in the design basis, not a photograph of something standing.

  • Parabolic antennas on fixed pedestals, spaced for the sky view the site actually has.
  • A poured pad with a grounding grid sized to the local soil resistivity.
  • A meet-me room and core switch, sitting between the pad and the edge centre’s fabric.
  • A fibre lateral into the edge centre, and a second route where the site allows one.
  • Battery ride-through on the pad itself, independent of the hall’s own supply.

After the pad.

Capacity leaving the pad reaches homes and businesses over somebody else’s last mile. Three routes, none of them built by Xalant:

  • Fibre, where a local network already has a route and needs capacity to put on it.
  • Fixed wireless, where the terrain suits it and the trench does not pay for itself.
  • Mobile, where a licensed operator already has the towers and needs backhaul behind them.

Questions about the gateway pad

What exactly does Xalant build here?
The ground. Land, foundations, a grounding grid, antenna pedestals, power with battery ride-through, a meet-me room and the fibre route into the edge centre. The constellation overhead belongs to a satellite operator, and Xalant's commercial standing with any operator is not settled — nothing on this page should be read as an agreement with one.
Can I buy internet service from Xalant today?
No. Xalant is pre-formation and has no live site. The plan is that capacity beyond the edge centre's own need is handed to the networks already serving the area, which is a different thing from selling a subscription, and it is a plan rather than a product.
How much capacity does a gateway pad carry?
Not published. The design figure lives in the stats registry and appears on this page the day it clears with a named basis and an as-of date. There is no target, no range and no asterisk in the meantime, because a number with no source behind it is the one thing this site will not print.
How long does the earth-station licence take?
Not published, because the regulator sets it and Xalant does not. What is published is the step itself — the FCC Part 25 earth-station application and the spectrum coordination beside it — and which step a given project is on.
Who builds the last mile?
Somebody else. Xalant does not build last-mile networks and does not plan to. A gateway pad hands capacity to a local fibre, fixed-wireless or mobile network that already has the route, the poles or the towers.
Why does this page keep the name Community Gateway?
Because links to this address already exist and breaking them helps nobody. Product names in this category have changed at least once and will change again, so the page is named for what Xalant builds — a gateway pad — rather than for a vendor's product line.
